Pioneer Professor of Petroleum Engineering in Africa, Former Shell Chair and Dean Faculty of Technology, University of Ibadan, Visiting Professor Middle East, Consultant to Government and Companies
He is currently the Chairman/CEO of Emerald Energy Resources Limited operators of OPL 229 in Nigeria, with over 40 years of practical oil industry experience in management, technology development and consulting. He consults globally for major oil companies (Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Repsol/YPF, PDVSA) on improving oil and gas production rates and optimizing field development and reservoir management. Dr. Amaefule had worked for Occidental Petroleum and BP as a Senior Petroleum Engineer in charge of field-wide well productivity improvement in California and Prudhoe Bay Field, Alaska. He has also worked in the service sector, as a Senior Vice President in charge of Business Development/Marketing and Research & Technology Development and Instrument Development, for Core Laboratories, a division of Western Atlas International in Houston, Texas.
Former CEO, International Institute for Petroleum, Energy, Law and Policy Group is a graduate of Imperial College London & Texas A&M University. He has demonstrable accomplishments in oil and gas exploration and exploitation and excellent business skills in comparative analysis of fiscal regimes. Dr Okon was the Group Executive Director Exploration and Production as well as the Executive Director for Corporate Planning and Strategy and Director of Transformation at NNPC.

Professor Iledare is the GNPC Professor & Chair in Petroleum Economics and Management at the Institute of Oil and Gas Studies, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a Professor Emeritus of the LSU Center for Energy Studies, USA. Engr. Alex Neyin is the Managing Director/CEO of Gacmork Nigeria Limited. He graduated with B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas and the University of Southwestern Louisiana, Lafayette, Louisiana, respectively. He has worked in the E&P industry for over thirty-five (35) years in Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering, Operations, Teaching Consultancy and Management/Policy positions. His career saw him work for Gulf/Chevron in different locations and capacities at Escravos, Lagos, Port-Harcourt and the Gulf of Mexico. His broad experience base covers Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering, Associated Gas utilization, Water Injection, Asset Management, Joint Venture Representation in Assets, spread across Land, Swamp, Offshore and Deep-Water areas. He was Africa Region Director of Society of Petroleum Engineers International and Chairman SPE Nigeria Council Board of Trustees.
Professor Michael A. Adewumi has a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Ibadan, with First Class division, in 1976. He learned an MSc and Ph.D. in Gas Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois, in 1981 and 1985, respectively. Professor Adewumi since 2008, has been serving as Vice Provost for Global Programs at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). In this role, he provides leadership and oversight for all Penn State’s global engagements, ranging from hosting thousands of students from more than 100 countries, sending thousands more overseas to participate in over 200 study abroad programs, and building strategic partnerships with institutions around the world.
Professor Worika is a Professor of Law and current Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Prior to his current appointment, Professor Worika has held several positions such as Senior Legal Adviser, Commonwealth Secretariat (2011–2014), Senior Legal Counsel/General Legal Counsel, OPEC (2004-2011) and Senior Law Lecturer, RSUST, Port Harcourt (2001–2004). Professor Worika is an outstanding international lawyer with demonstrable highest standards of efficiency, competence and integrity in striving to achieve results, meeting or exceeding expectations through genuine interest and understanding of Organizational/ institutional objectives and dedicated to its principles and values.
Professor Michael O. Onyekonwu is the Managing Consultant of Laser Engineering and Resources Consultant Limited. He is a registered engineer and a Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt.
